Virginia Chapter Moves towards Licensure

In April of 2011, the Chapter Board approved a motion to support a legislative process that will amend the law in which we are “certified” by the Commonwealth. If the new law is passed, all current “certified” massage therapists will become “licensed” by the Commonwealth. Now is the time for action! We need you to advocate for the Licensure Bill! There are three parts to this:

  • Before January 10th, contact your legislators and let them know about the licensure bill and why it is important
  • After January 10th, read your emails daily! We will be sending out e-blasts to tell you when to contact your legislators at the capitol.
  • Plan to come at least once to the General Assembly session. Our annual Legislative Day is February 1st. Plan to come that day and participate! (Learn More)
